Bakuchiol
Bakuchiol is a plant based, clinically proven, sensitive skin friendly alternative to Retinol — In a 12-week study of 44 patients published in 2018 in the British Journal of Dermatology, Bakuchiol outperformed Retinol in anti-ageing effects, without any facial skin scaling or stinging.
It has shown to boost collagen and elastin production, vital for keeping the skin firm and smooth, while blocking the inflammatory pathways within the skin. This results in a visibly calmed, even and youthful-looking complexion.
Ayurvedic Plant Extracts
To enhance this serum's performance, we blend extracts of revered Ayurvedic herbs, using a traditional 21 day Ayurvedic infusion process for maximum potency. Amla, rich in Vitamin C, offers strong antioxidant protection; Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-brightening effects; Liquorice, which helps balance skin pigmentation; Manjistha, known for improving skin complexion; and Nagarmotha, which clarifies the skin.
The blend is further enriched with a medley of cold-pressed oils.
Vitamin C
Finally, we blend in an oil-soluble, non-irritating, stabilised Vitamin C, Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, which is able to penetrate deeper into the epidermis than the commonly used, 17 times cheaper, L-ascorbic acid. This further helps prevent signs of premature skin ageing by stimulating collagen biosynthesis and intervening in melanogenesis.
Formula base
All of the above are delivered with ease in a silky Capryloyl glycerin/sebacic acid copolymer-base, which is naturally derived from Castor oil and helps lock in moisture.

How do I layer it with other products, and do I need a moisturiser on top?
Moonlight Serum can be used on its own or followed by a moisturiser, depending on how your skin feels. If your skin tends to feel dry or thirsty overnight, pairing it with Sleepytime Gelly or Richie Rich Rich works beautifully, with the serum going on first. It's also gentle enough to apply around the eye area in place of an eye cream. While designed for evenings, some customers use it in the morning as well, either on its own or under SPF.
Is this right for my skin?
Moonlight Serum is formulated for all skin types, including sensitive, reactive, mature, and acne-prone skin. The formula is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic (it won't clog pores). It's safe to use during pregnancy and nursing as part of our Mama's Glow range, and is particularly loved by skin going through perimenopause and menopause. Many women come to Moonlight Serum after finding retinol too irritating; our hero ingredient Bakuchiol is a gentler alternative, backed by a 2018 study in the Journal of Dermatology.
When will I actually see a difference?

Will it feel greasy, or transfer to my hair or pillow?
Despite being an oil-based formula, Moonlight Serum is designed to absorb fully into the skin rather than sit on top. Most customers are surprised at how light it feels. For best absorption, apply to clean, slightly damp skin and press it in gently rather than rubbing. If you find any residue lingering, try using a little less, or applying it around 20 minutes before bed so it has time to soak in before your head hits the pillow.

Definitely seeing a difference. My pigmentation always flares up in the summer, if though I’m wearing spf 50+ and a hat. Since using the serum, I’ve had no increase in pigmentation. And my pigmentation is fading!
Omg my new favourite night time oil. One day 3 I felt my skin firming. I'm in my mid 30s and havent got wrinkles or saggy skin yet but this oil has done some firming and I can feel it. Its been 2 weeks now and I apply it a couple of times in the night (before sleeping and after morning prayer at 3am) it soaks in beautifully and doesn't make my pillowcases oily like some other oil brands. I highly recommend this oil to anyone who cannot stand heavy products on their skin. I cannot say that I love the scent but I do not hate it either. I prefer the sunlight serum scent. You need 3 drops for your whole face!
